Human Trafficking Day of Action Recap

On January 31, over 150 educators, advocates, case workers, therapists, and law enforcement professionals came together for a Day of Action Against Human Trafficking, the second annual day-long conference aimed at bringing attention to the growing problem of sex and labor trafficking in California.
Participants heard from health experts who shared research on the lifelong impacts of childhood trauma and the increased risk those youth face with human trafficking involvement and other abuses.
We heard from law enforcement and lawyers on their creative and savvy efforts to find and arrest human trafficking predators. Most compelling, we heard from survivors who found themselves in impossible, horrific situations, but found their way out and sought help getting their lives back on track.
